Sigma is proud to announce it has been awarded a 1.8 million Euro new technology project as part of the Clean Sky programme to develop composite pipes for aero engine applications. Sigma will be working in collaboration with TWI Ltd based near Cambridge and the project is expejcted to last 18 months.

Clean Sky is an EU funded programme, supported by many of Europe’s aerospace OEM’s, to develop new technology for more environmentally sustainable aircraft, rotorcraft and propulsion systems.

This project fits perfectly with Sigma’s technology development roadmap and ambition to generate intellectual property. Since the project will be heavily biased towards composite materials, Sigma Composites design and manufacturing expertise and TWI’s knowledge in composites bonding were clearly key factors in winning the project.
