Sigma Components will make a welcome return to Airshow China in 2014, showcasing a range of products – including its innovative COMPipe – in the UK Pavilion (Stand 1A T2A)

The company, which forms Avingtrans PLC’s aerospace division, was formed to support expected growth in the Chinese market. It now operates from six sites across the UK and China, engineering a range of airframe, power plant and interior components in both traditional and composite materials.

Mark Johnson, founder and managing director of Sigma Components, said:

“Providing a local source for the burgeoning Chinese aerospace market has always been at the heart of our business.

“By combining our own manufacturing capability in Chengdu with the expertise that sits across our UK businesses, we can extract real value from the supply chain, managing the full product lifecycle from new product introduction to volume production and on into aftermarket support.

“We’re delighted to be returning to Airshow China after a busy few years expanding our capabilities and developing new technologies.

“Alongside our traditional range of pipes, ducts, specialist fasteners and sub assemblies, we will also be providing further updates on COMPipe – our revolutionary, lightweight pipe developed as part of the CleanSky Programme.

“We are also investing significantly in development work using an array innovative composite braiding techniques and 3D-printing technologies, so we have many exciting new programmes to talk about.”
