Sigma China celebrates NADCAP accreditation

Sigma Components, which forms Avingtrans PLC’s aerospace division, is celebrating after its Chinese manufacturing facility received NADCAP accreditation.

The 30,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Chengdu, China supplies components to Sigma’s UK sites and is now fully NADCAP certified for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Fluid Penetrate Inspection, NDT X-Ray, Welding and Brazing.

Mark Johnson, founder and managing director of Sigma Components, said: “We’re delighted that the Chengdu facility is now fully NADCAP accredited. We’ve invested significant time and money developing processes and skills at the site to ensure we deliver the very highest standards to our customers and this accreditation will give us a genuinely market-leading capability.

“As a central part of our operations, the Chengdu facility has expanded its capabilities significantly over recent years.

“Alongside accredited NDT facilities, recognition of our manual and automatic welding, and low-temperature torch brazing capabilities, are an equally essential part of our offer, allowing us develop our pipe assembly services to meet growing customer demand.”

Sigma Components was recently praised for its work developing international relationships with China by the UK Trade Minister, Lord Livingston, during a trade visit to Chengdu. The site is an integral part of Sigma’s global business model that has seen sales quadruple over the last four years.
