Rigid Pipe Manufacturing and CNC Machine Investment in China

Sigma’s facility in Chengdu now has a comprenhensive manfacturing capability for rigid pipe assemblies. Significant investment has been made in pipe bending, cleaning, welding, assembly, NDT (FPI and X-ray) and pressure test equipment in a dedicated area of the factory.

The first trial pipes were completed in November and the facility will be production-ready during the second quarter of 2013 following approval by our launch customer. Full Nadap approval of the special processes is expected by mid-2013.

China has also commissioned four new CNC machines: Two Haas VMC’s and two Doosan lathes. This has been in response to growing demand for machined components, particularly end fittings for rigid pipes.
