Chengdu Sigma Precision Components Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sigma and occupies a 35,000 sq ft (3,000m2) purpose-built air-conditioned facility that became operational in late-2006 and was officially opened on 3rd April 2007.
To enable us to operate at the highest levels of performance in global markets, Sigma have adopted a ‘green field’ approach, blending western management and quality control systems, with the benefits of a low cost economy and access to emerging markets.
Our workforce is carefully selected picked from the buoyant aerospace industry around Chengdu, capturing the vitality, drive and will to please of the local culture.
Management, business control and quality systems are built on Sigma Management’s wide experience in blue-chip aerospace companies, giving the very best controls. AS9100 aerospace approval was granted in March 2006 and the facility has now obtained approval from customers such as Goodrich Actuation Systems who demand the highest standards.
The facility became operational in December 2006, producing component parts for industrial markets and delivered first aerospace-approved components shortly after gaining AS9100 approval in March 2007. We have agreements in place with local NADCAP-approved suppliers for special processes. Sigma adopts a partner approach with our customers and global supply chains, recognising that customer value can only be maximised if capabilities in all regions of the world are used.
