Mark Johnson heads up Sigma and is based in the UK. He has over 20 years experience in the Aerospace Industry having worked for blue chip companies including Lucas Aerospace and Dunlop.
With an honours degree in Production Engineering Mark developed into Account Management, Project Management, Sales and Operations roles before getting into General Management. Having worked in many countries during his career including the US, Spain, Italy, France, Japan and Korea, he has a good knowledge of how to make business work in different cultures. He speaks English and French and is starting a much harder challenge of learning Mandarin!
Prior to founding Sigma, he was Managing Director at Dunlop Aerospace having businesses in Coventry, Birmingham and North America. It was during this period that the enormous potential of China became apparent.
Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and when not travelling lives with his family in the UK.
Graham Bannerman heads up Sigma's 30,000 sq ft facility in Chengdu, China having overall control over all aspects of its operation. Graham joined Sigma in October 2008 and brings not only experience in the aerospace industry, but also has spent three years running a manufacturing facility in Beijing
Graham has an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universtity of Edinburgh and an MBA from Dundee
Combining an in depth knowledge of Chinese working cultures with an in-depth knowledge of highly efficient manufacturing processes, Graham is working with the growing team at Sigma to deliver a highly effecient aerospace component manufacturing facility.
Simon joined Sigma in January 2006 and holds responsibilitiy for all technical aspects of the businesses operations, based in Chengdu.
Simon has many years experience in modern manufacturing engineering techniques and has held Engineering management positions at AETC, AF Aerospace and Dunlop Aerospace.
Initially trained as an Apprentice at Alvis in Coventry, he has kept his personal development up-to-date throughout his career and is a GE-trained Six Sigma Blackbelt.
In common with most of Sigma's management team, he has had extensive experience working in global supply chains in Europe and Asia.
Ocean was an early appointment for Sigma in China has responsibility as Supply Chain Manager for Sigma based in Chengdu, China.
Ocean graduated from Sichuan Normal University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Foreign Trade in 1999. She joined UTC's joint venture company Chengdu Aerotech and during her 5 years with Aerotech, she was held positions in Supply Chain, Administration, MIS and Communications. Having well developed skills in English and communications, Ocean was responsible for coordinating UTC's "Dialogue" program in China taking views and opinions of Chinese employees and presenting them to UTC's management.
Ocean has developed a skill-set to 'bridge' Western Aerospace business needs with Chinese culture and has an extensive network of relationships with manufacturing businesses in China.
Living in heart of vibrant Chengdu, Ocean enjoys her home life and like Sigma's supply chain team in China has a working day that allows a good overlap of working time with Europe.
